General & Preparatory Details
Webinar Notes:
- Four parts - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
- Listening has 4 sections with 30 minutes. Reading has 3 sections with 60 minutes and Writing has 2 tasks with 60 minutes too.
- Reading has about 3 very long very passages about 2,750 words. Skim, Scan and Read. Search for particular words and place a time limit upon yourself while practicing.
- Types of questions in reading:
- MCQ, Identifying True/False, Writer’s view, Match info to paragraphs/ headings, Sentence endings, Sentence completion, Summary, Notes, Table, Flow chart, Diagram, Short answer
- Boldened question types appear in the same order as info in the text
- Writing has 400 words in 60 minutes with 150 words in Task 1 and 250 words in Task 2. Task 1 needs you to describe a visual situation either a diagram, table, chart etc. whereas Task 2 needs you to give an opinion on a statement. You should have an opinion and be able to express it clearly.
- Spend 20 mins on Task 1 and 40 mins on Task 2 as it is worth more. Don’t exceed word limit too much.
- Listening has conversations and monologues.

- Capital letters are not penalized. Both US and UK spellings are acceptable.
- Speaking- Elaborate a lot and use idioms with nice vocabulary. You need to speak for a lot of time, so practice forming ideas and connecting them well. Talk slow and clear.
